Or would it have been?

By the time this is over it may go down as the worst mistake in the 21st century..

Would a Democratic President have done this?

It's HIGHLY unlikely that Al Gore would have invaded Iraq based on the false evidence at hand.

Bush only heard what he wanted to hear, "slam dunk" and ignored countless other reports refuting his disillusioned views of "stockpiles of WMD."

A Democrat wouldn't have invaded.
It's not like the US wasn't warned that they were jumping into a big mudpit filled with extremists.

George has a vision, independently confirmed by God, that he can change the middle east.

Anyway, it'll keep your massive military machine busy for a few decades.

Clinton should have gone to Iraq the first time Saddaam broke the cease-fire agreement. His bombastic rhetoric backed by a few missiles at empty office buildings showed Hussein that the US wasn't serious about the agreement, and led to way to his continual breach of the UN resolutions.

Gore wouldn't have invaded Iraq unless Lieberman had more influence on foreign policy than seems likely. He wouldn't have gone after the Taliban in Afghanistan either. With any tough decision, Gore's and Clinton's first instinct is to cover their ass. The UN is good for that, as the genocide in Africa showed in the 90's. Instead of Iraq building its democracy, under Gore we would still be yelping about the inspectors, Kofi Annan's son and other UN bigwigs would still be making millions under the fraudalent "Oil for Food" program, and Iraq would still be funding terrorism in the Middle East.

Shotgun,
Isreal has broken several resolutions.

Should we wage war on them?

Seems like a loosing propositition either way. Paying for our sins of the past.

What we would most likely have gained were the 700+ young lives lost prematurely and seemingly unnecessary.

Gore wouldn't have invaded Iraq but he definitely would've passed a (Non)Patriot-Act like law similar to what we have today with an additional clause allowing the government to track and confiscate, based on the slightest "suspicion", any privately-owned firearm in the country. That's why I voted for Bush; not because I liked him but because he's way better than Gore. Why the hell didn't Colin Powell run?

Had a democrat been in office more than likely it wouldn't have happened.

Then again maybe anyone without a Joan of Arc complex wouldn't have gone.

Seriously, dems, generalizing, worry more about international diplomacy than repubs, the world was against us on this and we had no proof, chances are we wouldn't have gone.
